Issue #63

Greetings from the middle seat of a flight that should've taken off an hour ago. The full Bandit squad, damn near all 13 of us, are heading to Chi-Town for an all-paws-on-deck pop-up for the 46th running of what Rossi calls and Finley deeply disagrees with, "the fastest major." We're opening our Tribune Tower doors at 435 N Michigan Ave for running biz with our Magnificent Miles capsule on Thursday at noon and keepin' them puppies open through Monday. The dog puns stop never. Speaking of barking up the wrong tree, give our teaser vid a quick watch if you aren't as addicted to IG as us and missed it on Monday.

Alright, now we go: the full capsule, RSVP to the pop-up events, behind the design with Ardi, free advice, and a Chicago guide from a local legend (no strava).

EXPLORE THE CHICAGO 2024 CAPSULE IN FULL

We're something of an architect ourselves. Inspired by Chicago's storied history (see what we did there?) as an architectural oasis, we created a capsule to celebrate what Tim Rossi calls "the fastest major... which is potentially a bad take." Take a good hard look at the 7 items available at our pop-up on the Magnificent Mile this weekend only.

THE BANDIT CHICAGO POP-UP & EVENTS (RSVP)

*Yung Joc voice* "It's goin' dowwwwn." Half of us are in Chicago, half of us are on our way in from Brooklyn, and half of us are typing this from the middle seat of a flight from a foreign country where we just shot our upcoming Winter campaign. This is all neither here nor there. Our Chicago pop-up at 435 N Michigan Ave is open officially for running business this Thursday through Monday.

BEHIND THE DESIGN: THE CHICAGO 2024 CAPSULE

Ale & Ardi doing Ale & Ardi things with this one. Hear from the goat's mouth about what inspired the Tribune Tower of capsule designs. Hint: blueprints, high contrast line-work, precision points, graph paper, etc. You know, standard architect things. Fun fact: Ale graduated top of her class as an architecture major. And that was BEFORE ChatGPT even existed. Crazy work.

FREE ADVICE ON HOW TO RACE THE CHICAGO MARATHON

Once again, we've removed the imaginary paywall for some sage wisdom from the man in the photo on reader's left who happens to know a thing or two about a thing or two about Chicago on how to walk away on Sunday with a shiny new PR. If you survived reading that sentence, you'll surely survive the race. Let's have a day.

KGUNNA'S WEEKEND GUIDE TO CHI TOWN

You don't want to fly all the way to Chicago just to hit some deep dish spot with 7 locations and a suspicious Yelp score, do you? Local legend (no Strava) Kevin Gunnawan has you covered with a full rundown of Chicago run culture, and all the places to eat, shop, loiter, and longingly stare at some piece of abstract art that has you thinking "I could've done that."
